Lot 602: A Vintage Silver and Iridescent Inlay Spiral Jewellery Set
A vintage silver and iridescent inlay spiral jewellery set, comprising a pendant necklace and a pair of matching stud earrings. Each piece is constructed with a polished silver-toned circular mount featuring a spiral motif, inlaid with iridescent material displaying vibrant blue and green hues, consistent with lab-created opal or paua shell. The pendant is suspended by a tapered bail from a fine trace-link chain, while the matching earrings are fitted with post-backings for pierced ears.
A white adhesive auction label is attached to the presentation box reading HCP Auctions South West, Lot 602, www.hcpauctions. The cardboard packaging is inscribed with handwritten notes in blue ink reading Necklace with matching earrings, £25 Reserve, and V: 932. Faint vertical writing on the left-hand side of the inner blue box appears to read Fire opal. No metal purity hallmarks or manufacturer marks are clearly visible on the items.
Condition report:
The jewellery set appears to be in good condition with no visible losses to the iridescent inlay or significant surface wear to the metal components (photo 1). The chain is free from visible kinks or repairs, and the earring posts appear straight.
