Lot 607: A Collection of Vintage Bisque Porcelain Dolls
A collection of vintage bisque porcelain dolls, featuring heads, hands, and feet crafted from fine bisque porcelain on stuffed cloth bodies. Each doll is dressed in costumes reflecting the late Victorian or Edwardian periods, including tiered satin gowns, floral cotton dresses with ribbon accents, and lace-trimmed bonnets. The dolls feature synthetic wigs in shades of blonde, auburn, and brown, styled in ringlets and waves. Most examples possess fixed inset acrylic or glass eyes with painted or applied synthetic eyelashes. Decorative details include broderie anglaise collars, faux pearl strands, fabric rosebuds, and chiffon-style overlays. There are no maker marks or signatures legible on the porcelain or within the garments. A white adhesive label reading 540 is visible on one storage container (photo 2).
Condition report:
The dolls are in generally good condition with no visible cracks or chips to the porcelain faces, hands, or feet (photo 1, 5). Several examples exhibit dishevelled hair from storage (photo 1, 3). The clothing shows minor dust accumulation and storage-related creasing (photo 2, 4). The items are stored loose in plastic crates and bins, and prospective buyers should assume minor shelf wear across the collection.
