Lot 650: A Vintage Polaroid Instant 10 Plastic Instant Camera
A vintage Polaroid Instant 10 plastic instant camera, constructed from rigid dark grey textured plastic for use with 80-series square format pack film. The body features a fixed-focal length lens with a manual zone-focusing ring, a top-mounted exposure control dial, and a prominent green shutter release button. The camera is equipped with an integrated black plastic T-bar film-pulling handle on the side. The front faceplate displays the vertically oriented mark ‘POLAROID’ alongside the model name ‘Instant 10’. The focus ring is incised with distance increments ‘3’, ‘5’, ‘6’, ’10’, ’15’, ’30’, and the infinity symbol ‘∞’. On the reverse, the film compartment door bears printed instructional diagrams and the marks ‘POLAROID’ and ‘CAMERA’ along the bottom edge. Adhesive labels include a handwritten price sticker reading ‘£3.00’ and an auction lot tag for HCP Auctions South West marked ‘Lot 650’.
Condition report:
The camera presents in good vintage condition with a notable layer of surface dust across the entire body (photo 1). There are minor superficial scuffs and light wear to the textured plastic housing consistent with age (photo 1). The lens glass is dusty but appears free from fungus or significant scratching (photo 1). While the dials and shutter button operate mechanically, the camera remains untested for functional operation and is sold as a collector\'s item due to the lack of available film.
