Lot 656: A Collection of Vintage and Later Columbia Bob Dylan Compact Discs
A collection of vintage and later Columbia Bob Dylan compact discs, comprising approximately twenty-four titles in both standard jewel cases and cardboard sleeves. The lot covers a broad chronology of the artist’s career, featuring early acoustic studio albums, mid-1960s electric transitions, and later studio and live productions. Notable titles include The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan, Blonde on Blonde, Highway 61 Revisited, and Nashville Skyline. The collection also includes archival releases such as Before The Flood and volumes from The Bootleg Series, specifically Vol. 4: Live 1966 and Vol. 11: The Basement Tapes Raw. The spines bear various Columbia and Columbia Legacy branding. Legible markings include a printed black logo and catalogue number ‘460953 2’ on Highway 61 Revisited and ‘CD 32130’ on Blonde on Blonde. One case for the album Desire features a handwritten title reading ‘BOB DYLAN – DESIRE’ in black marker on a plain white paper spine insert.
Condition report:
General shelf wear is visible across the cases, with accumulated dust and cobwebs present on the top edges (photo 1). The cardboard sleeve for Live 1966 shows significant rubbing, edge wear, and corner crushing (photo 2). The outer sleeve for Tempest displays light scuffing (photo 1). The spine insert for Desire consists of a handwritten paper substitute in black ink (photo 1). The media has not been graded as the discs remain within their cases.
