Lot 662: A Vintage Collection of Agate, Amethyst, and Jasper Mineral Specimens
A vintage collection of agate, amethyst, and jasper mineral specimens, including a large agate nodule slice, twenty-four chevron amethyst tumbled stones, and six Shiva Lingam jasper ovoids. The agate specimen features a polished face and a natural, unpolished dark brown cortex; the interior displays concentric banding in shades of grey, tan, and cream, centred around a small druzy quartz-lined cavity. The chevron amethyst stones are polished and characterised by their distinct V-shaped banding of purple amethyst and white quartz. The Shiva Lingams are naturally tumbled jasper stones from the Narmada River in India, featuring characteristic reddish-brown and dark grey banding in a smooth, ovoid form. The collection is presented in a clear plastic storage container.
Agate Slice Length: 105 mm
Container Dimensions: 175 x 120 mm.
Condition report:
The specimens appear to be in good condition with no significant chips or fractures visible to the polished surfaces (photos 1 and 2). The agate slice retains its natural, rough outer surface as intended (photo 1). The clear plastic storage container shows minor surface scuffing.
