Lot 669: A Pair of Vintage Armour Collection and Buddy L Die-cast and Steel Toy Vehicles
A pair of vintage Armour Collection and Buddy L die-cast and steel toy vehicles, both presented in their original retail packaging. One item is a 1:100 scale model of a North American P-51 Mustang fighter aircraft, manufactured by Armour Collection. The aircraft is finished in a silver-toned die-cast metal with United States Army Air Forces star-and-bar insignia and black and white D-Day invasion stripes applied to the wings and fuselage. It is housed in a blue and transparent plastic display box, which features a printed label reading COLLECTION ARMOUR 1:100. The second item is a pressed steel school bus manufactured by Buddy L. The bus is finished in a traditional yellow-orange paint with black plastic components. The side of the vehicle is decorated with a printed SCHOOL BUS graphic between diagonal red and black caution stripes. A printed red logo reads Buddy L. The black plastic tires are moulded with the name BUDDY L repeated around the sidewalls. The toy is contained within a red and yellow cardboard display box which carries the printed text BUDDY L school bus and the slogan TOUGH WITH STEEL BUILT TO LAST.
Condition report:
The Armour model is housed in its original blue and clear plastic box; the plastic casing shows light scuffing and surface dust (photo 1), though the model appears complete and in good condition within the packaging (photo 3). The Buddy L school bus is presented in its original open-front cardboard display box, which exhibits minor shelf wear, including small creases and corner rubbing (photo 2). The toy vehicle itself appears to be in excellent, unplayed-with condition with bright paint and intact decals (photo 1).
