Lot 686: A Collection of Ten Vintage Mixed-Metal and Rhinestone Costume Jewellery Brooches
A collection of ten vintage mixed-metal and rhinestone costume jewellery brooches, representing various styles from the mid-to-late 20th century. The group includes a large floral brooch featuring light pink enamelled petals with black painted edges and a central cluster of pink faceted rhinestones, alongside a modernist copper-tone brooch with scrolled ends, a textured heart motif, and interlocking rings. A rectangular gold-tone filigree panel brooch is set with multicoloured glass stones and imitation pearls, while a circular silver-tone wreath brooch is decorated with faceted black stones. The collection also features a stylised multi-petaled gold-tone flower, a black resin disc with applied pink roses, a novelty plastic face brooch with a yellow fabric headwrap, a high-polish gold-tone swirling pinwheel, a filigree leaf accented with a single imitation pearl, and a delicate gold-tone flowering sprig. The pieces are accompanied by a printed white auction lot tag reading HCP Auctions South West Lot 686 www.hcpauctions.net, and the filigree panel brooch bears a handwritten white string tag reading £5.00.
Condition report:
The collection is in overall good vintage condition. Visible surface wear and minor loss to the gilt finish is noted on the petal edges of the large gold-tone flower brooch (photo 3). The enamel on the pink floral brooch appears largely intact (photo 2). All stones and imitation pearls appear to be present based on the provided angles (photo 1).
