Lot 685: An Antique and Vintage Mixed Metal Jewellery Collection
An antique and vintage mixed metal jewellery collection comprising an assortment of personal ornaments and decorative components in yellow-metal, silver-toned, and copper-toned finishes. The collection includes a late Victorian oval portrait miniature pendant depicting a woman in period attire with a high lace collar and choker necklace. Also present is a circular yellow-metal watch dial featuring black Roman numerals from I to XII surrounding a central floral engraved pattern; the dial is an isolated component lacking its case, movement, and hands. The group contains a yellow-metal rope-style chain and a silver-toned curb link chain. A large yellow-metal floral spray brooch is set with two white pearls, alongside a leaf-motif pin and a small green enameled shamrock pin with a central seed pearl. Other items include a silver-toned Eiffel Tower charm, several stick pins, and a twisted copper-toned metal component. A small oval tag on the silver-toned curb chain is stamped with the numerals 925, indicating sterling silver.
Condition report:
The items are in mixed condition consistent with age. The silver-toned chain shows moderate tarnishing (photo 1). The yellow-metal watch dial is an incomplete component without a case or hands (photo 2). The twisted copper-toned piece shows significant surface oxidation and darkening (photo 1). The portrait miniature appears generally well-preserved with minor surface wear to the frame and glazing (photo 1). General surface scratches and light oxidation are visible across the various brooches and pins.
