Lot 760: A Vintage Lustre Glazed Porcelain Demitasse Coffee Set
A vintage lustre glazed porcelain demitasse coffee set, comprising four cups and four matching saucers. Each piece is constructed from fine white porcelain and finished with a vibrant iridescent lustre glaze in four distinct colours: ruby red, amethyst purple, cobalt blue, and pale cornflower blue. The cups are designed with ornate, gold-toned scroll handles and feature plain white interiors. Both the cups and saucers are embellished with gilded accents to the rims and foot rings. The undersides of all pieces are finished in a plain white glaze and bear no visible maker’s marks, backstamps, or signatures.
Condition report:
The set is in very good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs (photos 1 and 2). The iridescent lustre glaze remains vibrant across all four colours, and the gold gilding on the handles and rims shows no significant signs of wear or rubbing. The plain white undersides are clean (photo 3).
