Buyer's Premium:

A trio of vintage novelty and modern ceramic teapots, comprising two mid-20th-century earthenware novelty examples and a modern stacking ‘tea for one’ set. The first novelty teapot is modelled as a double-fronted inn, featuring a rustic-textured handle and a glossy glaze finish. The facade is decorated with hand-painted signs reading THE TRAVELLER’S REST on the chimney stack and THE MINER’S INN above a window, which depicts three figures seated behind blue panes. The second novelty teapot is fashioned as a round table draped with a red and white checkered cloth over a brown wooden barrel-style base. The lid is elaborately decorated with miniature tea-time treats, including a small green-trimmed teapot, a pastry, and a large pie embossed with the letters ME. The modern white ceramic stacking set consists of a small teapot and a matching base cup, decorated with maroon-coloured graphic text reading teateatea, tea for one, and nice and hot. A repeating border around the lower section reads mmm… …tea tea tea…mmm…just for me…mmm…tea tea tea…mmm…. No manufacturer’s names are legible on the visible surfaces of the items.

Condition report:

The inn-themed teapot exhibits significant all-over crazing to the glaze and some surface dirt with minor discolouration to the roof section (photo 1 and 4). The table-themed teapot shows fine crazing across the white glazed sections of the tablecloth (photo 2). The stacking teapot set appears to be in good used condition with no visible chips, cracks, or significant wear to the printing (photo 3).
