Lot 768: A Collection of Vintage Coalport Fine Bone China Floral Ornaments
A collection of fourteen vintage Coalport fine bone china floral ornaments, each featuring hand-modelled and hand-painted floral arrangements set within a variety of white porcelain vessels. The assortment includes miniature studies presented in forms such as a swan, a conch shell, baskets, and small vases. The floral arrangements include a variety of species, notably carnations, roses, pansies, daffodils, and forget-me-nots, each crafted with thin-walled petals and green foliage. The pieces are finished in a naturalistic palette of pinks, yellows, and purples against the white glazed porcelain of the vessels. The lot is accompanied by a black paper booklet with the printed white text COALPORT above Fine Bone China and Hand Painted Cottages and Floral Studies.
Condition report:
The collection shows typical signs of wear and fragility inherent to fine porcelain flora. There are visible chips and losses to the edges of petals and leaves across several pieces, most notably on the large carnation arrangement (photo 3) and the yellow daffodils (photo 3). Potential buyers should expect scattered minor nibbles to the delicate edges throughout the lot. The porcelain vessels appear free from major structural damage or visible repairs.
