Lot 860: Vintage Big Egg Silver-Tone Plastic Portable Washing Machine
Vintage Big Egg silver-tone plastic portable washing machine, featuring a distinctive egg-shaped design intended for small or delicate laundry loads. The unit is constructed with a metallic silver-tone plastic body and a top-loading circular lid. The upper shoulder houses a manual timer control dial with black markings and the brand name printed as BIG EGG. Internally, the machine contains a white plastic wash tub with a central six-finned pulsator agitator at the base and includes a white corrugated plastic drainage hose. The appliance is presented in its original cardboard packaging, which features printed graphic illustrations and promotional text including BIG EGG PORTABLE WASHER and instructions for use. A white adhesive auction lot tag is attached to the upper left corner of the box, printed with Lot 860 and HCP Auctions South West.
Condition report:
The washing machine is in used condition, showing minor surface scuffing and accumulated dust to the exterior silver-tone finish (photo 1). The interior tub and drainage hose appear relatively clean (photo 2). The original cardboard box is in poor condition, exhibiting significant structural damage including large tears to the top flaps, creasing, and areas of surface loss where adhesive tape has been removed (photo 1). The mechanical and electrical functionality of the unit is untested.
