Lot 915: A Pair of Vintage Queen Anne Fashion Floral Upholstered Wingback Armchairs
A pair of vintage Queen Anne fashion floral upholstered wingback armchairs. Each armchair is constructed with a high, winged back, scrolled armrests, and a loose seat cushion. The bodies are fully upholstered in a traditional woven fabric featuring a beige ground decorated with a repeat pattern of scrolling vines and floral motifs in shades of terracotta, brown, and green. The chairs are supported by four carved wooden cabriole legs, with the front two terminating in ball and claw feet. A white rectangular adhesive label bearing the printed number 915 is attached to the left armrest of one chair. There are no legible manufacturer labels or maker’s marks visible on the external surfaces.

Condition report:
The upholstery shows significant signs of age and heavy wear. There is noticeable pilling and fraying to the fabric on the armrests and the leading edges of the wings (photo 1 and 3). Visible staining and discolouration are present on the seat cushions and the central backrest area (photo 2). The wooden cabriole legs and ball and claw feet exhibit surface scuffs and minor scratches consistent with age and floor contact (photo 1).
