Lot 956: A Pair of Antique Late Victorian Oak Joint Stools / Side Tables
A pair of antique late Victorian oak joint stools / side tables, constructed in the Jacobean fashion from dark-stained solid oak. Each stool features a rectangular top with rounded edges and visible peg or dowel construction at the joints. The tops are supported by four turned baluster legs terminating in square block feet. The legs are united by a sturdy low-set perimeter box stretcher. A white adhesive label is adhered to the top of the left stool which reads BGP Auctions South West, Lot 956, and www.bgpauctions.net. Both stools also bear green adhesive tape markers reading 7290 PAIR.

Condition report:
Both stools exhibit significant surface wear across the tops, including extensive loss of finish, staining, and numerous deep scratches (photo 1). There is general scuffing, minor knocks, and finish wear to the turned legs and perimeter stretchers consistent with age and domestic use (photo 1).
