Lot 991: A Vintage Stellar Universal Knife Block and Mixed Set of Kitchen Cutlery
A vintage Stellar universal knife block and mixed set of kitchen cutlery, featuring a group of knives with diverse blade profiles including a chef’s knife, utility knives, and paring knives. The block is constructed from a black-finished synthetic material with a silver-toned metal plaque on the front incised STELLAR. The interior utilises a universal storage system consisting of densely packed black plastic fibre rods to accommodate various blade widths. The knives feature stainless steel blades with a variety of handle constructions, including red, white, and black moulded plastic, triple-riveted black composite, and one natural light-toned wood handle. One large blade is marked with a circular device containing a cross and shield, accompanied by the text VICTORINOX SWITZERLAND STAINLESS ROSTFREI. The side of the block bears a white adhesive label reading 166.
Condition report:
The set is in used condition with signs of regular household wear. The block shows surface dust and minor scuffs to the exterior finish (photo 1). The knives exhibit surface scratching to the blades and typical wear to the plastic and composite handles (photos 1 and 2). The wooden handle shows grain raising and minor surface discolouration (photo 2). Blades show evidence of previous sharpening (photo 1).
