Lot 992: An Antique Provincial Pine Chest of Drawers
An antique provincial pine chest of drawers from the late Victorian or early Edwardian period. The chest is constructed in a traditional two-short over three-long drawer configuration, standing on four integral tapered feet. It features a warm, honey-toned finish and is fitted with a complete set of ten turned wooden knobs. The piece exhibits a heavy patina and character developed through years of domestic utility. A small white adhesive auction label is affixed to the upper right corner, printed with the text Lot 992. No manufacturer names, stamps, or other identifying labels are visible on the exterior of the piece.

Condition report:
The chest is in a well-used condition consistent with its age and provincial origin. Significant surface wear is evident throughout, including multiple scratches, scuffs, and areas of finish loss (photo 1). A prominent white scrape or deep mark is visible on the front of the top right drawer (photo 1). The top surface shows evidence of heavy use with various stains and ring marks (photo 1). A vertical strip of yellow tape residue remains on the right-hand side of the carcase (photo 1). The tapered feet show significant scuffing and wear at the base (photo 1).
