Lot 996: A Vintage Upholstered Sectional Sofa
A vintage upholstered sectional sofa of large proportions, configured in multiple modular units. The sofa features a modern profile with wide track arms and loose, boxed seat and back cushions with piped edges. The upholstery is a textured beige or taupe fabric, likely a chenille or synthetic blend. The entire piece is supported by tapered square wooden feet in a light finish, visible at the base of the arm sections. A small white rectangular adhesive sticker is present on one arm bearing the printed characters 996, but no manufacturer labels or maker’s marks are visible to identify the producer. Included are two square scatter cushions in a contrasting charcoal grey textured fabric.

The sofa is in a well-worn condition with significant signs of use. The upholstery is heavily soiled throughout, exhibiting prominent dark staining, smudges, and general surface grubbiness, particularly on the seat cushions and the upper surfaces of the arms (photo 1 and 2). The loose cushions show noticeable compression and sagging (photo 2). The piece would require extensive professional cleaning or complete reupholstery.
