Lot 222: A Vintage British Riveted Steel Storage Trunk
A vintage British riveted steel storage trunk, dating to the mid-20th century. The chest is of heavy-gauge steel construction, featuring prominent horizontal reinforcement ribbing and secured with metal rivets throughout the seams and body. It is fitted with a central lock plate and a side latch. The exterior exhibits a heavily weathered, oxidised surface with a natural rusted patina. The interior is finished in factory-applied red paint, which remains relatively intact. An oval label is affixed to the interior centre of the lid, bearing the printed text WARRANTED BEST STEEL, TRUNK, and MADE IN ENGLAND.
