Lot 649: A Trio of Late 20th Century Royal Doulton and Franklin Mint Decorative Wall Plates
A trio of late 20th-century fine porcelain and bone china decorative wall plates, each featuring an idealized English country cottage scene. The circular plates are designed with slightly upturned rims and finished with gilt-trimmed edges. The multi-colour transfer-printed pictorial scenes depict various thatched cottages set within vibrant perennial gardens. One plate is marked to the reverse with a black printed backstamp reading Presented by Lilliput Lane, The Gables, THE FRANKLIN MINT, and LIMITED EDITION FINE PORCELAIN, and is hand-numbered Plate No. CA1056. This plate also carries a warning symbol of crossed-out cutlery and text reading NOT FOR FOOD USE — FOOD CONSUMED FROM THIS PLATE MAY BE HARMFUL. THIS IS A DECORATIVE ACCESSORY. A second plate is identified by an accompanying Certificate of Authenticity from Royal Doulton as part of the Harvest Home series, titled Off to the Fields by artist Peter Kotka, crafted in fine bone china and hand-numbered 5433 B. The lot includes one original cardboard box.
