Lot 650: A late 18th Century Chinese Imari Porcelain Bowl
A late 18th century Chinese Imari porcelain bowl, finished with a deep cobalt blue exterior ground. The surface is decorated with a gilded trellis diaper pattern, interrupted by large scalloped reserves containing polychrome enamels depicting a bird perched among flowering peonies and foliage. The interior features a central circular medallion painted in iron-red (rouge de fer) with flowering branches and garden rockwork, whilst the footring is finished with a continuous floral scroll in iron-red. The glaze contains scattered firing specks, kiln grit, and small pits typical of the period. No maker’s marks or labels are visible on the surfaces shown.
