Lot 667: Vintage Corkscrew with Gnarled Natural Wood Handle
A vintage corkscrew featuring a handle crafted from a piece of gnarled natural wood, possibly vine root or a burl, finished with a dark reddish-brown polish. The handle retains its organic form, exhibiting natural apertures, knots, and a textured surface. The functional metal component consists of a flat shank that transitions into a traditional open-spiral worm, secured to the wood handle with a visible brass-coloured pin. There are impressed marks on the flat surface of the metal shank; however, the individual characters are not legible and do not spell a discernible name.
