Lot 713: A Collection of Jersey Pottery Hand-Painted Earthenware Tablewares and a Floral Teapot
A collection of hand-painted earthenware tablewares from the Jersey Pottery, Channel Islands, together with a ceramic teapot and a photograph. The Jersey Pottery items include a milk jug, an open sugar bowl, cups, and saucers, each featuring a hand-painted stylised tulip pattern with orange and blue flower heads over a variegated brown ground with sweeping brush-stroke textures. The interiors are finished with a plain cream glaze. The bases of the pieces bear a triangular blue and white adhesive label reading JERSEY POTTERY HANDPAINTED. Also present is a hand-painted mark in black glaze reading Jersey Pottery C.I. and a decorator monogram consisting of a stylised letter M with a horizontal bar above it. The white ceramic teapot is decorated with grey-brown floral transfer prints and features a scrolling handle, curved spout, and a domed lid with a floral finial. The lot is accompanied by a small photograph of a white gabled building.
