Lot 923: An Assortment of Novelty Ceramics and a Cast Iron Miniature
A collection of various decorative ceramic and metal objects, primarily comprising novelty teapots and figurines. The group includes a cast iron miniature modelled in the form of a steam engine or cooking range, featuring circular moulded details on the body. Also included is a ceramic novelty teapot modelled as a thatched cottage, with hand-painted polychrome architectural details and greenery. Another ceramic novelty teapot is shaped as a horse or donkey, finished in cream and brown glazes with a black painted mane. The assortment further contains a brown-glazed earthenware teapot of globular form, a blue-glazed ceramic vessel, and a moulded ceramic animal head figurine, possibly a sheep or pig, with a cream-coloured glaze. Various ceramic fragments, including a miniature house roof and other decorative pieces, are also present. There are no maker’s marks, signatures, or backstamps visible on any of the items in their current positions. A piece of crumpled packing paper within the box shows partial printed text reading REAL FOOD.
