Lot 1010: A Vintage Tudor Revival Carved Oak Court Cupboard

A vintage Tudor Revival oak court cupboard of traditional recessed form, constructed in two sections. The upper section features a central cupboard door flanked by canted side panels, supported by a pair of substantial turned bulbous cup-and-cover front columns. The lower section comprises a pair of drawers over a two-door cupboard base. The piece is decorated throughout with relief carvings, including inset square panels to the doors featuring central lozenges and scrolling foliate motifs, and repeated vertical gadrooning to the top frieze and drawer fronts. The central stiles between the lower doors are embellished with carved gothic-style arches. It is fitted with ornate cast brass hardware, including butterfly-style hinges and circular foliate-patterned pull knobs. The oak timber exhibits prominent medullary rays characteristic of quartersawn grain. No maker’s marks or manufacturer labels are visible.
