A monocular compound microscope finished in black enamel with chrome-plated fittings, presented in its original fitted wooden case. The main tube bears a printed diamond-shaped logo containing the characters P.B.L., positioned above text reading 40X-900X. The instrument features a triple revolving nosepiece housing three objective lenses, alongside coarse rack-and-pinion and separate fine-focus adjustment knobs. The set includes a detachable mechanical stage finished in black with chrome-plated adjustment knobs, allowing for precise X-Y slide movement. The microscope is housed in a mahogany-toned wooden box with a brass carrying handle and hinges, featuring internal racking for two additional eyepieces marked H 10X and 15X. A small internal drawer contains prepared slides, including one label reading Angora Rabbit, together with lens tissue and vintage Eveready batteries.
