Lot 996: John Trickett Signed Colour Print of a Black Labrador

This auction ended on 31 October 2026.

Start price: £3

Estimated price: £3 - £5

Buyer's Premium: 20%

A signed colour print by John Trickett, depicting a black Labrador Retriever in an alert seated posture. The dog is set against a naturalistic autumn or winter landscape composed of dried grasses and skeletal trees under a pale, cloudy sky. The work is executed in a realistic style with soft, atmospheric brushwork characteristic of Trickett’s sporting dog portraiture. The print bears a legible printed signature within the plate to the lower right reading Mitchell, and is further hand-signed in pencil in the lower right margin with the artist’s name John Trickett. The piece is professionally mounted in a dark blue card mat with a gold-tone fillet and housed within a gilt-edged wooden frame.
