Lot 1015: A Collection of Three Antique and Vintage Wall Mirrors and a Framed Industrial Print
This lot comprises an assortment of wall mirrors and decorative wall art. The first item is a large rectangular wall mirror featuring a dark-finished moulded wooden frame with parcel-gilt accents, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The second item is a circular wall mirror set within a dark-stained hardwood frame, likely oak, dating to the early 20th century. The third mirror is an arched or shield-shaped plate, characteristic of a late Victorian or Edwardian dressing table suite, housed in a mahogany-style wooden frame with a shaped top. Completing the collection is a framed technical drawing or print depicting industrial mechanical components and machinery, presented in a simple light-coloured wooden frame. The print bears an auction house lot tag numbered 279.
Condition report:
All items in this collection show significant signs of age and wear. The large rectangular mirror exhibits heavy foxing and silvering loss, particularly around the edges, and the surface requires cleaning. The circular mirror shows visible foxing and silvering loss to the perimeter of the plate. The arched dressing table mirror is in poor condition with extensive silvering loss and heavy foxing concentrated at the lower edge. The framed industrial print is in poor condition, being heavily affected by damp staining and significant foxing across the paper surface.
