Lot 493: A Collection of Continental Porcelain Figurines of Ladies
A group of glazed porcelain figurines, each depicting a lady in 18th-century style dress. The collection comprises several distinct models. One model features a lady wearing a bonnet and a dress with multiple ruffled tiers, finished with blue and gold-toned borders and scattered floral sprigs. Another model depicts a lady in a dark blue bodice and a wide white skirt, decorated with small floral bouquets and a scalloped gold-gilt hem. Further figurines in the collection are shown in dynamic poses, possibly dancing, wearing blue tricorn hats and white skirts with blue floral patterns. All items feature hand-painted floral decoration and gilt highlights. These pieces are in the style of 20th-century continental manufacturers such as Unterweissbach and Royal Dux. One item bears a contemporary auction lot sticker for Liskeard Auction Rooms.
