Lot 570: A Japanese Kutani Style Hexagonal Ceramic Table Lamp
A hexagonal porcelain table lamp decorated in the Kutani style. The six-sided body features panels depicting birds on blossoming branches, butterflies, and floral motifs in a palette of iron red, green, and black with gilt highlights. The panels are bordered by blue and gold lattice patterns, with red Greek key bands at the neck and foot. The ceramic column is mounted on a dark-stained, tiered wooden base with a matching wooden top cap. The lamp is fitted with a brass bayonet bulb holder and a white electrical cord with an in-line switch and a UK three-pin plug. The item bears paper auction labels, including a handwritten tag reading CHINA LAMP 1 of 2 and a printed tag for Liskeard Auction Rooms.
