Lot 557: A Set of Contemporary Porcelain Floral Decorated Tea Cups and Saucers
A set of contemporary porcelain tea or coffee cups and matching saucers. The pieces feature large-scale floral transfer-printed designs. Each cup is decorated with a purple flower, resembling a pincushion flower, set against a banded background of mauve and cream. The saucers are decorated with a yellow and apricot parrot tulip on a matching mauve and cream ground. All pieces are finished with a fine silver-toned line to the rims. The cups have a flared form with white loop handles, while the saucers have a wide, shallow profile. The bases of the items are plain white and unmarked. One saucer bears a lot sticker for Liskeard Auction Rooms.
