Lot 488: A mid-century style clear glass bird figurine with controlled bubble decoration
This lot consists of a stylised bird figurine hand-formed from clear glass with a subtle yellowish tint. The body of the piece contains an internal pattern of controlled air bubbles, a technique known as bullicante. The form features a rounded, bulbous head and a stout body that tapers into a short, hand-pulled fan-shaped tail. On the polished base of the figurine, there is a small, circular white paper adhesive label with the handwritten name Fretter in black ink. No permanent manufacturer marks, etched signatures, or factory stamps are visible on the glass. The style and technique are characteristic of mid-20th century art glass from various origins, including Scandinavia and Murano.
