Lot 410: A Collection of Copper, Brass, and Silver-Plated Metalware with Domestic Accessories
A varied collection of domestic metalware and decorative objects. The lot features a pair of small copper chambersticks with circular bases and finger loop handles, alongside a single brass chamberstick of traditional form with a central column and ring handle. A modern silver-toned metal commemorative box of cylindrical form is included, featuring a spherical finial and incised with the text 2000 MILLENNIUM to the base. The assortment also contains a silver-toned metal trinket box shaped as a crescent moon. Two service implements are present: a metal crumb scoop and a cheese knife with a curved blade, both finished with cream-coloured synthetic handles. A small silver-plated mug or measure holds several teaspoons and a pair of sugar tongs. A handwritten provenance tag is attached to the sugar tongs, stating: These sugar tongs were given to Anne Priscilla Peach and Ernest Radbourne by the jeweller where they purchased their wedding ring. 26.12.1901. Additionally, there is a small oval decorative plaque or miniature frame with a white ground and a red and blue enamelled floral motif.
