Lot 932: A 20th Century Jacobean Revival Oak Dresser Base
An oak dresser base or low sideboard designed in the 17th-century Jacobean revival style, dating to the mid-20th century. The unit features a rectangular oak top with a molded edge. The front is configured with two drawers over two cupboard doors. The drawers are constructed with machine-cut dovetails and are fitted with turned wooden knob handles. The cupboard doors feature geometric raised-and-fielded panels with notched corners, flanking a central fixed molded panel. Hardware includes decorative wrought-iron or cast-iron butterfly style hinges and iron ring-drop handles. The interior is divided into two cupboard compartments by a central vertical partition and is currently lined with a blue and purple floral patterned paper. Doors are secured from the inside with iron turn-buckle latches.
