Lot 33: A Trio of Scottish Silver and Taxidermy Grouse Claw Brooches
A trio of traditional Scottish sporting brooches, each featuring a taxidermy grouse claw mounted in silver. The collection includes one brooch embellished with a cast thistle motif, another with a cast stag head and antlers, and a third with a plain tapered mount. Each mount is finished at the terminal with a large, faceted amethyst-coloured paste stone held within a claw setting. The thistle and stag head brooches are fitted with traditional long pins and C-clasp closures, while the plain mount brooch utilizes a safety-pin style fastener.
