Lot 816: A Collection of Approximately 25-30 Novelty and Figural Glazed Earthenware Teapots
A collection of approximately 25-30 novelty and figural teapots, primarily constructed from glazed earthenware. The lot includes several pieces with visible branding and manufacturer marks. A narrowboat teapot features a label for the Carters Teapot Company and British Waterways. A complex figural teapot depicting a tea dance scene at the Grand Hotel is also characteristic of Carters of Suffolk production. One cottage-form teapot is marked Teanmore, England. The collection comprises various architectural forms including an Antiques shop and numerous traditional cottages with thatched roofs and Tudoresque detailing. Additional shapes include a red tractor, a piano-form teapot, a lady in a crinoline dress, a black and white cow, a bird, an apple, a watering can, and a toy box. The items are finished with hand-painted details and transfer-printed elements.
