Lot 52: Late Victorian or Edwardian Circular Bridle Leather Case and Wax Flower Wreath
A late 19th to early 20th-century circular protective case containing a delicate wax floral wreath. The case is crafted from thick, hand-stitched tan bridle leather and is secured with a leather strap and metal D-ring buckle. The interior is lined with a burgundy or red fabric in a basketweave pattern. Inside the case is a floral circlet composed of white wax buds and flowers, commonly known as orange blossoms, mounted on a wrapped wire frame. While the high-quality leather construction is characteristic of contemporary military field equipment cases, the contents are typical of Victorian or Edwardian bridal and commemorative items. No maker’s marks or military stamps are present.
