Lot 200: A Vintage Matchbox Models of Yesteryear Y-22 Ford Model A Van
A vintage Matchbox Models of Yesteryear Y-22 die-cast 1930 Ford Model A delivery van, finished in a white and black colour scheme. The model features a white body with a textured black roof and a black chassis, fitted with red spoked wheels and black tyres. It is decorated with a period-style advertising livery for Cherry Blossom Boot Polish, including the printed text Chiswick Products Ltd. Chiswick London W.4 on the doors, a circular product tin graphic on the side panels, and the slogan Gives a Quick and Lasting Shine towards the rear. The vehicle includes silver-tone detailing to the front bumper, radiator grille, and headlights. The underside of the black chassis bears a molded Matchbox block logo, the model name Ford Model A, and the copyright information © 1981 Matchbox Int’l Ltd. Additional molded marks on the base read Made in Macau above Models of Yesteryear and the reference number Y-22. The model is accompanied by its original maroon and gold window box, which has a white adhesive label reading HCP Auctions South West lot 200 affixed to the plastic window.
