Lot 544: An Antique Collection of Blue and White Transfer-printed Earthenware Tea Wares
An antique collection of blue and white transfer-printed earthenware tea wares, including a teapot with a matching lid, a rectangular tea caddy with a lid, and a teacup with a coordinating saucer. The teapot and saucer are decorated in the traditional Willow pattern, featuring pagodas, a bridge, and weeping willow trees within a fenced garden. The tea caddy displays a detailed figural scene of characters in traditional dress within an interior and garden setting, while the teacup depicts a simplified landscape. The teapot base bears a blurred blue printed mark that is largely obscured by heavy crazing; only the characters W, I, and L are partially legible at the top right of the device. No other visible manufacturer marks or labels are present on the remaining items.
