Lot 1024: A Vintage Cream Pleated Fabric Oval Drum Lampshade
A vintage cream pleated fabric lampshade of oval drum form, featuring horizontal pleating over a white-coated wire internal frame. The shade is constructed with fabric pleats arranged horizontally across the elliptical body, creating a textured surface. The internal frame consists of a spider-type fitting with six radiating spokes that meet at a central mounting ring, designed for use with a lamp harp. A white adhesive printed label is attached to the exterior face reading HCP Auctions South West, Lot 1024, www.hcpauctions.net. A small handwritten paper tag is also adhered to the exterior bearing the digits 57 66. No manufacturer names or designer marks are legible on the item.
Condition report:
The pleated fabric displays general surface soiling and areas of discolouration consistent with age and previous use, particularly visible along the top and bottom rims (photo 1). The internal white-coated wire frame shows minor chipping and wear to the coating at the points where the spokes connect to the outer ring (photo 2). The shade remains structurally sound without any significant tears or punctures to the fabric.
