Lot 1042: A Mid-20th Century Seltmann Weiden Porcelain Service in the Regina Pattern
A mid-20th century Seltmann Weiden porcelain tea and dinner service in the Regina pattern, comprising approximately 30 pieces. The service is constructed from white porcelain featuring a distinctive moulded fluted or swirl-textured body, decorated with transfer-printed pink rose sprigs and finished with a thin pink band to the rims. This collection includes a teapot with a matching cover, a lidded sugar bowl, a pair of salt and pepper shakers, seven teacups, six saucers, a small open bowl, six dinner plates, and six side plates. The underside of the teacups bears a green printed mark consisting of a crown symbol above the text Seltmann, Weiden, Bavaria, W. Germany, REGINA, and the number 24. The dinner plates bear a similar green printed mark featuring the crown symbol above Seltmann, Weiden, Bavaria, W. Germany, and the number 33.
Condition report:
The service is in generally good condition, showing light signs of use consistent with age. A small dark firing speck is visible in the interior base of one teacup (photo 3). There are no large chips, cracks, or significant repairs visible in the overview or detail images. Very minor rubbing to the pink rim lines may be present on some pieces.
