Lot 576: A Collection of Nine Vintage Lledo and Matchbox Model Vehicles
A collection of nine vintage Lledo and Matchbox model vehicles, constructed with die-cast metal bodies and various plastic detail components including wheels and chassis. The collection features six Lledo models from the Days Gone and promotional series, and three Matchbox models from the Models of Yesteryear range. The Lledo vehicles comprise a green Marks and Spencer Centenary van (1884-1984), an orange Tizer The Appetizer van, a green Model of the Month Club van dated Autumn 1989, a yellow and green Ransomes Lawn Mowers van, a yellow and green Jif Natural Strength Lemon Juice log truck, and a maroon and cream Huntley and Palmers Biscuits van. The Matchbox vehicles include a Y-21 1930 Model A Ford with wood-effect panelling, a Y-10 1906 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost in silver with red wheels, and a Y-12 1912 Ford Model T in Silverstone Circuit England livery. The Lledo boxes are printed with the brand name and MADE IN ENGLAND BY LLEDO (LONDON) LIMITED. Matchbox boxes carry the series name and specific model designations. Several boxes feature white adhesive inventory stickers marked 9249.
