Lot 597: A Trio of Vintage Clear and Frosted Pressed Glass Tableware
A trio of vintage clear and frosted pressed glass tableware, comprising a boat-shaped fruit bowl, a frosted footed bowl, and a small cream jug. The fruit bowl is of an elongated oval form and features a serrated sawtooth rim, with the exterior decorated in deep geometric pressed patterns including large central starbursts and rotating pinwheel motifs. The footed pedestal bowl is finished in a frosted satin texture, punctuated by clear circular lenses or medallions, and is topped with a deeply scalloped rim resembling flower petals. The small jug is decorated with an all-over diamond-point waffle pattern and is fitted with a simple C-scroll handle. A hand-written white adhesive label attached to the fruit bowl reads ‘2010. / Vintage / cut glass fruit / bowl sawtooth edge / + 2 other glass / pieces. / Res. £5.00’, accompanied by a printed paper label for ‘HCP Auctions South West / Lot 597 / www.hcpauctions.net’.
Condition report:
The collection is in good vintage condition with clear glass showing no significant internal clouding or discolouration. No large chips, cracks, or structural losses are visible across the three pieces (photos 1-3). The serrated edge of the fruit bowl and the satin finish of the pedestal bowl appear to be well-maintained without prominent surface scratches or fleabite chips.
