Lot 1115: A Vintage Fabric-Upholstered Three-Seater Howard Style Sofa
A vintage fabric-upholstered three-seater Howard style sofa, featuring a slightly arched back and deep-seated scroll arms. The sofa is provided with three loose seat cushions and three corresponding loose back cushions, all upholstered in a cream or light grey coarse-weave textile. The piece is raised on turned wooden front legs terminating in brass casters, with square-section raked legs to the rear. A white rectangular adhesive label is affixed to the centre of the front rail; the printed text on this label is not legible and the maker cannot be identified.

Condition report:
The sofa is in poor condition and requires significant restoration. There are prominent dark stains and surface marks across the seat cushions and the front rail (photo 1). The upholstery shows heavy pilling and wear, particularly to the scroll arms and along the piped edges (photo 2). The fabric is currently soiled with surface dust and grime from industrial storage. Re-upholstery or extensive professional cleaning is recommended.
