Lot 715: A Vintage Mašek - Umělecká výroba Wooden Pinocchio Marionette Puppet
A vintage Mašek – Umělecká výroba wooden Pinocchio marionette puppet, featuring a moulded composition head with hand-painted facial features including blue eyes and a characteristic elongated nose. The puppet is constructed with articulated wooden limbs and a fabric-covered torso, dressed in a costume consisting of a yellow long-sleeved shirt, black vest, red shorts with white pom-pom buttons, and a blue ribbon necktie. It is suspended by six black strings from a wooden T-bar control handle. The wooden control handle bears a printed black mark comprising the CE symbol followed by the text Mašek – umělecká výroba. The puppet also retains a white adhesive auction label printed HCP Auctions South West, Lot 715, and a separate paper tag handwritten with the number 46738.
Condition report:
The puppet is in good condition with no significant damage to the moulded head or painted surface. There is minor fraying visible to the raw fabric edges of the red shorts (photo 2) and occasional loose threads on the yellow shirt. All black strings are present, untangled, and securely attached to both the wooden control bar and the puppet (photo 1). The wooden limbs and control handle show only light surface wear consistent with handled display.
