Lot 739: A Vintage SilverTowne .999 Fine Silver 1 Ounce Bullion Bar and Coinage Collection
A vintage SilverTowne .999 fine silver 1 ounce bullion bar and coinage collection, comprising a variety of international currency, costume jewellery, and personal accessories. The rectangular silver bullion bar is housed in a clear plastic protective case; the obverse is struck with a design featuring a prospector and donkey, with the text SilverTowne printed in a script above ONE OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER. The collection includes paper 20,000 Lira banknotes from the Republic of Turkey, featuring the portrait of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and inscribed TÜRKİYE CUMHURİYET MERKEZ BANKASI and YİRMİ BİN TÜRK LİRASI. A variety of world coinage is present, including British cupro-nickel half crowns dated 1961 and 1967 inscribed ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F.D., a Costa Rican 20 colones piece dated 1968, and a French 10 francs coin. The lot is further accompanied by a selection of costume jewellery including a pair of light green cabochon drop earrings, an oval cameo brooch, and a large octagonal faceted amber-toned brooch, alongside a stainless steel folding multi-tool impressed ROLSON STAINLESS and a black-strapped wristwatch.
Condition report:
The Turkish banknotes exhibit heavy circulation wear, characterised by multiple prominent creases, folds, and surface staining (photo 1). The silver bullion bar appears in excellent condition within its protective housing (photo 2). The world coinage displays varying degrees of surface patination, toning, and circulation wear consistent with age (photo 3). The costume jewellery items show minor surface scratches and general wear to the mounts (photo 2). The red hinged presentation box displays light scuffing to the edges (photo 1).
