Lot 505: Three Clear Pressed Glass Serving Pieces and an Additional Base
This lot comprises three clear pressed glass pieces, likely dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, along with one additional glass base. Included is a pedestal cake stand or comport featuring a wide plate with a deeply ruffled pie crust rim and a radiating, swirling fluted pattern on the underside. The stand is supported by a short, waisted pedestal stem terminating in a flared, ribbed circular foot. A circular clear pressed glass dish is included, featuring a crimped and scalloped rim with broad, flat radiating rays extending from a central circle towards a border of petal-like motifs. Another circular dish displays a ruffled edge and a pattern of multiple narrow, radiating flutes or ribs extending from a central hexagonal base. The lot also contains a separate circular glass base decorated with a diamond-point or waffle-pressed pattern arranged in concentric rings. No maker’s marks, signatures, or etched branding are visible on any of the pieces. The glass is clear and shows no signs of discolouration.
