Lot 654: A Vintage Queen Anne Silver Plated Presentation Plate and Cut Glass Bowl
A vintage Queen Anne silver plated presentation plate and cut glass bowl by Mayell and Co of Wednesbury. The circular plate features an ornate raised scrolling foliate border and a central field decorated with a dense chased foliate and floral design. The clear cut-glass bowl is decorated with a geometric starburst pattern to the base and sides, finished with a narrow silver-coloured metal rim. The items are presented in a textured cream-coloured box with a draped blue satin-effect lining. A black and white manufacturer’s tag is attached to the plate, reading QUEEN ANNE, SILVER PLATED TABLEWARE, ARTICLES DE TABLE – ARGENTE, TAFELZUBEHÖR – VERSILBERT, and MAYELL and CO – WEDNESBURY, ENGLAND.
