Buyer's Premium:

A white porcelain mug produced by the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory in St. Petersburg, Russia, formerly known Lomonosov. The mug is of cylindrical form with a slightly flared rim and a plain, curved handle. It is decorated in the celebrated Cobalt Net pattern, featuring a hand-painted underglaze cobalt blue lattice overlaid with gilded accents. Each intersection of the blue cross-hatching is embellished with a small hand-gilded bow motif. The interior rim is finished with a scalloped gold border, complemented by a thin gold band to the exterior rim. The base bears a blue underglaze printed mark consisting of a double-headed eagle with a crown and sceptre above the date ‘1744’, flanked by the words ‘Imperial Porcelain’ and ‘ST. PETERSBURG’. There is an additional small hand-painted mark in red appearing as a Cyrillic character.
