Lot 141: A Pair of Wrought Iron Style Mosaic Inset Folding Garden Chairs
A pair of metal folding garden chairs. Each chair features a scrolling wrought-iron style backrest inset with a central circular mosaic tile medallion in a blue, black, and white geometric pattern. The chairs are constructed with rectangular lattice-work seats and simple metal frames designed to fold for storage. This design and construction are consistent with modern mosaic bistro sets sold by retailers such as Charles Bentley and Outsunny.
Condition report:
The chairs are in heavily weathered, as found condition, consistent with prolonged outdoor exposure. There is significant surface rust visible across the metal frames, particularly on the lattice seats and the reverse of the mosaic medallions. The dark painted finish is peeling and degraded in several areas. One of the mosaic inserts shows signs of damage with missing or loose tiles. The folding mechanisms appear intact but may be stiff due to corrosion.
