A mid-20th-century cake or pie server featuring a filled sterling silver handle and a stainless steel blade. The handle is decorated in the Kings pattern, displaying scrolled edges, foliate motifs, and a shell-form terminal. The stainless steel blade has a serrated edge and is etched with the manufacturer mark for Viners Ltd, Sheffield, England. The handle bears a full set of British hallmarks including the maker mark EV for Emile Viner (Viners Ltd), the lion passant for sterling silver, and the crown for the Sheffield Assay Office. The date letter is a gothic-style character consistent with mid-20th-century production.
Condition report:
The server is in good vintage condition. The stainless steel blade exhibits surface scratches and light wear consistent with age and use. The silver handle shows natural tarnish, particularly within the recessed areas of the decorative pattern. There are no visible monograms or inscriptions.
